Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

Join Nuneaton Veterinary Centre as a Veterinary Receptionist in a permanent, on-site role based at 178 Camp Hill Road, Nuneaton. The hours are 40 per week, with a varied Monday to Friday pattern between 08:00 and 18:00, plus a share in the Saturday 09:00 to 16:00 rota.

This role is centred on client care, communication and keeping the front desk running smoothly. You will be supporting pets and people at often emotional times, while helping the practice stay organised, welcoming and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and arrange appointments efficiently
• Respond to phone, email and in-person queries professionally
• Greet and register new clients at reception
• Process insurance forms
• Dispense medications as required
• Handle payments accurately and efficiently
• Provide empathetic support to clients during difficult moments
• Use the in-house system to organise patients
• Liaise with other veterinary practices over patient needs and queries
• Make calls about debts, belongings and refunds when needed

Requirements

• Previous experience as a receptionist or in another demanding, client-focused role is essential
• Veterinary reception experience is a bonus
• Resilience and the ability to handle emotional situations with kindness and professionalism
• Strong communication skills and genuine empathy
• Excellent customer service skills and experience working with the public
• Positive teamwork skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems
• Right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for clinical support roles
