Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

This is a permanent, part-time Veterinary Receptionist position based at CVS Vets' Sandbach clinic at 30 Crewe Road, Sandbach, Cheshire East, CW11 4NE. The role is 16 hours per week, working Tuesday and Wednesday, with a share in the Saturday rota at the Kidsgrove, Newcastle or Sandbach clinics.

You'll be front and centre for client care, helping pets and their people through appointments, queries, payments and insurance administration. CVS also highlights a structured Receptionist Careers Pathway, offering courses to help develop skills and confidence in client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and book appointments
• Handle queries by phone, email and in person
• Welcome and register new clients
• Process insurance forms
• Dispense medication as required
• Take payments accurately
• Support clients with empathy during difficult moments
• Use the in-house system to organise patients
• Liaise with other veterinary practices about patient needs and queries
• Make calls about debts, belongings and refunds
• Ensure clients feel welcomed and valued

Requirements

• Previous receptionist experience is essential
• Veterinary reception experience is an advantage, but not essential
• Resilience and the ability to handle emotional situations
• Strong communication skills and genuine empathy
• Good customer service skills and experience dealing with the public
• A positive attitude and teamwork skills
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and database systems
• Right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for this clinical support role
