Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

You will join Battle Flatts Veterinary Centre in a permanent Veterinary Receptionist role, supporting clients and patients across multiple practice sites. The rota is 38.92 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday on a varied shift pattern, with a share in the weekend rota.

This is a busy front-of-house role where you will be the first point of contact for clients, while also helping the wider practice team with administration, payments, insurance forms and day-to-day communication between sites.

Battle Flatts Veterinary Centre is part of CVS Vets, and the advert links to its Norton, Strensall, Pocklington and Stamford Bridge practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and book appointments
• Respond to client queries by phone, email and in person
• Welcome and register new clients
• Process insurance forms
• Dispense medications when required
• Take payments accurately
• Use the in-house system to organise patients
• Liaise with other veterinary practices about patient needs and queries
• Handle calls relating to debts, belongings and refunds
• Provide a welcoming and supportive client experience at the reception desk

Requirements

• Previous experience as a receptionist or in another demanding, client-focused role
• Veterinary reception experience is beneficial, but not essential
• Resilience and the ability to handle emotional situations with kindness and professionalism
• Strong communication skills and empathy
• Good customer service skills and experience dealing with the public
• A positive attitude and teamwork skills
• Microsoft Office and database skills
