About the Practice
Dundas Veterinary Group was established in the late 1970s and has grown to four branches across central Edinburgh, all accredited under the RCVS Practice Standard Scheme. The practice is family-owned by veterinary surgeons Emma Sharp and Peter Sharp, and proudly remains one of the few independently owned veterinary practices in Edinburgh. This independence allows the team to provide personal, caring, and professional service without corporate constraints.
The practice invests continuously in modern facilities and equipment, including separate dog and cat wards, an operating theatre with comprehensive surgical equipment, a dedicated dental suite, and an in-house laboratory. Services include comprehensive small animal care, diagnostics, surgery (including visiting orthopaedic specialists for cruciate ligament and patella disease), dentistry, acupuncture, and pet passports. The team is known for its friendly, welcoming atmosphere, with many long-standing staff members and regular social events including team lunches, bowling nights, and escape rooms. Friday pizza takeaway is a well-loved tradition.
