Assistant Equine Ambulatory Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

Equivet is looking for an additional Assistant Equine Ambulatory Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, supportive team in Churt, Surrey. The role sits within a well-established practice and offers the chance to step into cover for a long-standing vet who is beginning maternity leave.

You will be based at Nodwood House Equine Clinic in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with a location that combines countryside living with access to town and city life. The caseload includes sport and pleasure horses, and the team is looking for someone who is confident, collaborative and keen to keep developing.

The position is full time at 40 hours per week, with a 4 or 5 day working week and a 1 in 6 second on-call rota.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality ambulatory veterinary care to an equine client base.
• Work with sport and pleasure horses across a varied caseload.
• Support clients with clear communication and attentive service.
• Collaborate with experienced colleagues within the practice.

Requirements

• MRCVS, or eligibility to register.
• Experience in an equine ambulatory role.
• Confidence managing a varied caseload.
• Excellent communication and client care skills.
• A collaborative approach and a positive attitude.
• A commitment to high standards of patient care.
