Approved Tuberculin Tester (ATT)

About the Role

Farm First Vets is recruiting and training an Approved Tuberculin Tester because a team member is travelling abroad. The successful candidate will be trained and supervised by an Approved Veterinary Supervisor while completing the qualifications and practical experience needed to become an ATT.

This is a flexible role, with working patterns available on either two or four days per week. It offers the chance to be part of a friendly, supportive farm animal practice in the heart of Monmouthshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out TB skin testing in cattle once fully trained and authorised.
• Complete the required qualifications and practical experience under supervision.
• Work with an Approved Veterinary Supervisor within the practice.
• Undertake online training, an examination, practical TB testing and a practical assessment.
• Follow direct and continuous supervision during practical training.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be able to pass identification and basic DBS checks.
• Hold a full driving licence.
• Have at least six months of livestock handling experience.
• Hold either three GCSEs, or equivalent, in Mathematics, English and a Science subject or Food Production.
• Or have three years of experience in a government regulatory role such as a Local Authority Inspector or Environmental Health Officer.
