Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

Eastcote is a West London practice with an established client base and a settled team. You will be the sole RVN in practice, so this role comes with additional responsibilities and a salary band that reflects that wider scope.

The rota is 40 hours per week and includes a 1:4 branch Saturday rotation, a 1:10 Sunday rotation at nearby Mandeville Hospital in Northolt, and one bank holiday per year. There are no on-call requirements.

The practice is described as warm and sunny, with lots of natural light, and includes a large consulting room, theatre, kennel area and lab room. Eastcote tube station is within walking distance, and local shops are close by too.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and help maintain a high standard that is continually improving.
• Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations when needed.
• Keep patient hospitalisation records complete and accurate.
• Support the comfort and welfare of pets in the practice's care.
• Help keep equipment cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly.
• Monitor stock levels for drugs, diets and consumables, and place orders as needed.
• Assist with the induction and training of new staff.
• Provide reception cover when required, handling clients and pets in person, by email and by telephone.
• Support student nurses as a clinical supervisor.

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse status.
• Ability to work full-time on a 40 hour week rota.
• Confidence working as the sole RVN in practice.
• Willingness to support student nurses and help with wider practice duties.

About the Practice

Eastcote is part of Goddard Vet Group and is based at 83 Field End Road, Eastcote, Pinner, Middlesex. The client base is established, with many pets bonded through the practice's health care plan.

The role also links with Mandeville Hospital in Northolt for Sunday rota cover and out-of-hours and emergency care, and the hospital is described as having state of the art facilities including CT.
