Float Veterinary Nursing Assistant

About the Role

This float veterinary nursing assistant role supports a range of branches across the Central London region, including areas such as Hackney, West Ham, Mile End and more. It is a varied position that covers rota gaps such as holiday, days off and sick leave, so flexibility is essential.

You’ll be working 40 hours per week with a regular Saturday rotation. The role suits someone with extensive prior experience in the veterinary industry, Level 2 VCA course completion, and strong animal care and client care experience.

Day to day, the role combines client-facing work with practical support across the practice. That includes reception duties, cleaning and upkeep of the practice and its equipment and facilities, general administrative tasks such as insurance claims processing, and hands-on patient care where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide float support to branches across Central London as rota needs change.
• Cover holiday, days off and sick leave across the local branch network.
• Handle reception duties and support the client journey.
• Carry out cleaning and upkeep of the practice, equipment and facilities.
• Complete general administrative work, including processing insurance claims.
• Support hands-on patient care where required.

Requirements

• Extensive prior experience within the veterinary industry.
• Completed Level 2 VCA course.
• Prior animal care experience.
• Prior client care experience.
• Flexibility to work across different branches as needed.
• Passion for teamwork and high standards of patient and client care.
