About the Role

This is a full-time, 4-day week position (Mondays off) at Kennington, a fast-paced first opinion two-vet practice in South London. You'll be the second RVN joining an established support team in a neighbourhood practice that's been growing from strength to strength. The role spans two floors, so you'll certainly get your daily steps in.

Your rota includes Saturday cover on a 1:4 branch rota plus 1:10 Saturday shifts at Stone Lion Hospital in Wimbledon, plus one bank holiday per year at Stone Lion Hospital. There are no on-call requirements. You'll be fully supported by a senior vet, associate vet, senior RVN, trainee nurses, and a fantastic regional manager. As part of your induction, you'll spend a day with the hospital team to prepare for your first Sunday shift. The practice is just 10 minutes' walk from The Oval and 8 minutes from Kennington Underground station on the Northern line, giving you easy access across London.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care and support continuous improvement standards
• Assist veterinary surgeons in theatre and consultations as required
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient hospitalisation records
• Ensure high standards of comfort and welfare for all pets in your care
• Keep theatre equipment cleaned, packed, sterilised, and correctly stored when not in use
• Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets, and consumables; place orders with suppliers as necessary
• Assist with induction and training of new staff
• Provide reception duties as required: friendly and efficient handling of clients and pets in person, by email, and by telephone
• Support and supervise student nurses in a clinical capacity
• Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment

Requirements

• RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse qualification
• Ability to multitask and communicate efficiently
• Strong team player with commitment to clinical standards and excellent client care

• Salary: £32,000 to £36,000 depending on experience
