Wanstead Veterinary Hospital is looking for a well-rounded, experienced veterinary surgeon who is ready for the next step into a senior GP position. The role is based in a busy hospital environment and is designed for someone who is client focused, confident in communication and able to help set the tone for the wider GP team.
Your rota runs on a 6 weekly rotational basis and averages 40 hours per week. That includes a 1 in 3 Saturday rotation, a 1 in 6 Sunday rotation, up to 2 bank holidays per year and inclusion on the last resort on-call rota. You will work across consulting, surgery, ward and ECC, with no two days or caseloads the same.
Wanstead itself sits on the outskirts of urban Essex, with easy access to London via a short walk to a Central Line station. The area also offers green space, including the local Bluebell Woods, plus independent restaurants, bakeries, pubs and coffee houses.
Wanstead Veterinary Hospital provides first opinion, emergency, critical care and referral services to clients and a local network of 20 branches. The hospital has state of the art diagnostic support, including a CT scanner and a commercial laboratory, plus a strong medical team and experienced surgeons carrying out advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue and minimally invasive surgery on site.
The team includes approximately 25 vets, 27 RVNs, 14 SVNs, 7 VCAs and a large front of house team. Support also comes from senior RVNs, 2 deputy head nurses, a head nurse, a head vet and a hospital manager.
