Senior Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This senior vet opportunity is based at Goddard Veterinary Group’s Plaistow practice, a busy GP branch in East London. The role is built for a vet who enjoys fast-paced branch life and is confident building rapport with clients and their pets.

You will work a 4-day week and be on a rota for 1 in 4 branch Saturdays, 1 in 8 Wanstead Hospital Sundays, plus 1 to 2 bank holidays per year in Wanstead. The role also includes last resort on-call cover, and leadership training is provided to help you settle into the senior position.

Plaistow is described as being at the heart of East London, with transport links nearby including Upton Park on the Circle line and access through London Liverpool Street for wider tube and train connections.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as a senior branch vet in a busy GP setting.
• Build strong relationships with clients and their animals.
• Provide diagnostic and surgical care for the local community.
• Take part in the branch Saturday rota, Wanstead Hospital Sunday rota and limited bank holiday cover.
• Support the practice through the last resort on-call rotation.
• Work alongside the existing team of a part-time vet, senior RVN, RVN and trainee nurses.

Requirements

• Experience of fast-paced GP branch work.
• Confidence working in a senior vet role.
• Ability to build rapport with clients.
• Interest in feline welfare would be relevant, as the practice is ISFM accredited.
