About the Role

Join a fast-paced first opinion practice in Kennington as a second veterinary surgeon, supporting a senior vet with a growing caseload. This is a branch role with a busy GP workload, and it would suit a vet who is comfortable working independently and handling emergency cases.

The hours are flexible between 30 and 40 per week. If you work full time, the rota includes alternating Mondays and Fridays off, plus a 1:4 branch Saturday rota, a 1:10 hospital Sunday rota, and 1 to 2 bank holidays per year at Stone Lion Hospital. There are no on-call requirements.

The practice is equipped with ultrasound facilities, making this a strong option for a vet with an interest in diagnostic imaging. You will also be supported by a senior vet, senior RVN, trainee nurses, a regional manager and a regional head vet.

Key Responsibilities

• Support a busy first opinion GP caseload in Kennington
• Work as a second veterinary surgeon alongside a senior vet

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon
• Confident working independently in a busy environment
• Able to competently manage emergency cases
• Strong communication and multitasking skills
• Interest in diagnostic imaging is welcomed

About the Practice

This Kennington practice is part of Goddard Veterinary Group, which celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2022 and now has 46 branches, three hospitals and its own nurse training college. The Kennington branch is described as fast paced and well supported, with Stone Lion 24 hour Hospital providing OOH cover when the practice is closed and handling referrals for more advanced treatment. The location is also close to The Oval and Kennington Underground station on the Northern line.
