About the Role

Stone Lion Veterinary Hospital in Wimbledon is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its team. This is a hospital based role for a vet who enjoys a varied caseload, collaborative working and the pace of a busy clinical environment.

The rota is structured across four days per week, averaging 42.5 hours, with a 1:4 Saturday commitment and a 1:8 Sunday commitment. The hospital is described as being in the heart of Wimbledon Village, around a 10 minute walk from Wimbledon Junction station, with access to a wide range of clinical expertise and excellent facilities.

You will be joining a 24 hour hospital and working alongside a knowledgeable, supportive multidisciplinary team. The advert also highlights that opportunities like this at Stone Lion do not come up often.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage your own medical and surgical caseload within a busy hospital setting.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across different clinical areas.

• Continue building clinical skills while making use of the facilities and clinical knowledge available at Stone Lion.

Requirements

• Experience in small animal practice.
• Confidence managing your own medical and surgical caseload.
• Strong clinical and communication skills.
• A compassionate approach to patient and client care.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A proactive approach to learning and clinical development.
• Hospital experience is mentioned as a bonus, but it is not essential.
