Inglis Vets Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their large, friendly, and forward-thinking small animal team in Dunfermline. This full-time role offers an excellent balance of hospital and branch work, typically split between two days at the main hospital and two days at a dedicated branch practice. This structure enables you to build strong client relationships and continuity of care while gaining exposure to a diverse and more complex hospital caseload including emergency presentations and advanced medical and surgical cases.
You will be supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team including RVNs, Animal Care Assistants, and a dedicated Client Care team. The practice also has visiting specialists in orthopaedics, dermatology, and ophthalmology, providing excellent learning opportunities. The working pattern includes a 1 in 12 night duty rota (4pm to 8am) with a generous stand-down period following night duty blocks, plus a 1 in 12 weekend day rota.

The practice operates a busy main hospital supported by 8 branch practices across Fife and Central Scotland. The team comprises approximately 100 colleagues including 30 Veterinary Surgeons, 40 RVNs and Animal Care Assistants, and 30 dedicated Support Staff. Facilities include state-of-the-art digital radiography, ultrasound, dedicated sterile surgical suites, in-house laboratory, laser surgery, chemotherapy, and 24-hour hospital care. A large emergency and critical care caseload is supported by the practice's own in-house out-of-hours service with experienced Night Nurses on-site throughout the night. The practice also functions as a clinical training centre for veterinary students at Cowdenbeath and offers hydrotherapy treadmill services at the Hospital Hill branch.
