About the Role

This part-time position offers a varied nursing role across Scarsdale Vets' Park Farm branch and sister practice sites. Working 27.5 hours per week over three days (Mondays and Fridays at the main branch, with one variable day covering other locations), you'll enjoy a manageable 1-in-4 Saturday morning commitment. The role blends nurse-led consultations with theatre support, giving you real ownership of patient care while developing confidence in independent practice.

You'll be part of a progressive team within inspiring vet care, the UK's leading vet care provider, supported by a Tier 3 accredited hospital and eight sister practice sites. The practice maintains RCVS accreditation, embraces a fear-free approach, and runs specialist clinics including a cat-only clinic and behaviour appointments. State-of-the-art facilities include digital x-ray, ultrasound, fully equipped theatre suite, and multiple consulting rooms.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nurse-led consultations on Mondays, covering wellness, preventative healthcare, chronic illness management, weight management, senior pet clinics, dental health and post-operative care
• Build strong client relationships and develop confidence in independent consulting, with support for certificate development
• Support theatre operations on Fridays: patient admission, theatre prep, pre-medication, anaesthetic monitoring, recovery and discharge
• Provide post-operative care and contribute to clinical standards across the practice
• Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider clinical team
• Take responsibility for nursing care of first opinion cases
• Support ongoing development of patient care practices

Requirements

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in consultations, anaesthetic monitoring and patient care
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
• Team-orientated and confident in delivering high standards of care

Appointments run six days a week, with facilities including lab resources, digital x-ray, ultrasound, fully equipped theatre suite with prep area, and multiple consulting rooms. The practice also offers pet selection advice and regular drop-in clinics.
