About the Role
You’ll be joining Wigmore Vets in Rainham as an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse on a full-time basis. The rota is 4 days per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 6:30pm, plus 2 in 4 Saturday mornings from 8:30am to 12:00pm.
This is a varied first opinion role within a practice that has a large, loyal client base and a busy caseload. The team describes itself as close-knit and family-feel, with many colleagues staying for 15 to 20 years.
The practice is well equipped with an in-house laboratory and digital X-ray, and it sits in a residential area of Rainham with links to London and the Kent coastline nearby.
Key Responsibilities
- Support surgery and anaesthesia
- Carry out ultrasound and diagnostic imaging
- Take part in laboratory work
- Provide dental nursing support
- Deliver inpatient care
- Handle client communication and nurse consultations
- Undertake triage under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon, including emergency calls, client follow-up, medication queries and sharing blood results
- Work collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons and the wider practice team on first opinion cases
Requirements
- RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
- Experience in clinical practice
- Growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement
- This role is especially suited to an experienced nurse who wants to develop consulting skills
