Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon role is based across GP Vets Ltd practices in Basingstoke and Tadley. The full-time pattern is 37.5 hours over four days, with a Saturday morning rota and no out-of-hours work, and part-time applicants are also welcomed.

The team is looking for a vet who can build on their experience in a supportive environment, with flexibility considered for reduced working days, consulting-only patterns, mornings, evenings and other working preferences. Medical or surgical bias is welcomed, and case work up is encouraged alongside support for CPD and certificates.

The caseload is mainly small animal, with some exotics seen if that is an area of interest. The practice also offers a setting where your dog can come to work with you.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Veterinary degree and RCVS registration, or eligibility to register.
• Some experience working in clinical practice.
• Growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
• A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development.
• Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
