About the Role

You’ll be joining White Cross Vets in Doncaster as a part-time Veterinary Surgeon, with the rota built around the right person rather than a fixed pattern. The practice is open to conversations about what shifts suit you, making this a strong fit if you want your clinical work to sit more comfortably around life outside the practice.

The caseload is busy and varied, with plenty of scope to stay involved in first-opinion medicine and surgery. The team already includes vets with a broad range of experience and interests, including certificate holders in Small Animal Internal Medicine and Dentistry, plus strengths in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery and developing ophthalmology expertise.

This role will suit an experienced vet who wants a different pace, fewer days, or the opportunity to develop a clinical interest with support around them. It also offers the chance to keep enjoying first-opinion practice while working alongside a team that values kindness, teamwork and practical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of the White Cross Vets, Doncaster small animal team in a part-time Veterinary Surgeon role.
• Manage a varied first-opinion medical and surgical caseload.
• Investigate and treat cases in-house where possible, including orthopaedic surgery, more advanced soft tissue cases, internal medicine and dentistry.
• Contribute to patient care from initial investigation through to treatment and recovery.
• Work collaboratively with vets, RVNs, VCAs, SVNs and Client Care Co-ordinators.

• Experience in first-opinion small animal practice.
• An open mind about working patterns, clinical interests and the pace of the role.

White Cross Vets, Balby is a small animal practice in Doncaster, part of inspiring vet care within the IVC Evidensia group. The practice treats dogs, cats and small pets, and is described as exotic friendly.
