Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

About the Role

This Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon position offers full time, part time and flexible working options, with a salary of up to £65,000 DOE and a welcome bonus of up to £5,000. The role is based across Wellpet Veterinary Practice's Shenley clinic in Hertfordshire and its consult-only branch surgery in Edgware, Middlesex.

You’ll be joining a friendly, close-knit team and working across rural Hertfordshire and North London locations. Some sole charge responsibilities are included, alongside the opportunity to develop your clinical skills and interests within a varied caseload.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient and client care across both Shenley and Edgware sites.
• Work collaboratively with the wider practice team on a varied small animal caseload.
• Contribute to the clinical culture of the practice and support colleagues.
• Take on some sole charge duties as part of the role.
• Continue developing clinical skills and interests while sharing knowledge with the team.

Requirements

• Veterinary degree and RCVS registration, or eligibility to register.
• Experience in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective client and colleague relationships.
• A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development.
• Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

About the Practice

Wellpet Veterinary Practice is described as a small clinic in Shenley, Hertfordshire, with a consult-only branch surgery in Edgware, Middlesex. The practice says it has been established for more than 60 years, and its friendly, professional veterinary staff have more than 25 years of experience in caring for small animals.
