About the Role
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon at Twickenham Vets, you'll be the most senior veterinary clinician within the practice, responsible for leading clinical standards, governance, and delivering outstanding patient and client care. This is a Monday to Friday role with no weekend work, no OOH commitments, and no bank holiday cover, giving you genuine work-life balance alongside clinical leadership.
Twickenham is a vibrant suburban town in west London, nestled along the scenic River Thames. The practice sits just 10 miles west of Charing Cross with excellent transport links, surrounded by charming cafes, restaurants, and beautiful parks. You'll work with a well-established team and access world-class facilities including digital X-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring, endoscopy, and laser therapy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead clinical standards, governance, and clinical culture across the practice
- Deliver high-standard patient and client care across a varied caseload
- Support and develop five colleagues (3 full-time and 2 part-time vets) and the wider nursing and support team
- Share knowledge and experience, contributing positively to the practice's clinical environment
- Continue to develop your own clinical skills and interests in routine medical and surgical cases
- Work collaboratively as an integral member of the clinical team
Requirements
- Veterinary degree and RCVS registration (or eligibility to register)
- Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
- Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
- Proactive approach to learning with openness to feedback and development
- Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Passion for delivering excellent patient and client care
