Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse position offers 40 hours per week (flexible across 4 or 5 days) with a manageable 1:4 OOH rota. You'll be joining Strathspey Vets, a long-established, community-oriented practice serving Strathspey and the surrounding area with branches in Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey. The practice serves a varied client base and plays an important role in local rural life, with a team that prides itself on knowing clients, supporting one another, and creating a workplace where every team member feels valued.

As an integral member of the clinical team, you'll deliver high-quality nursing care across a range of first opinion cases while supporting excellent client experiences. You'll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for nursing care and contributing to ongoing development of patient care standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality inpatient care and theatre nursing
• Conduct nurse consultations and manage laboratory work
• Support client communication and education
• Contribute to clinical standards and patient care development
• Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team
• Use nursing skills fully and contribute ideas to improve practice standards

Requirements

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
• Confident, motivated team player committed to high standards of care
