Wheelhouse Veterinary Centre is looking for an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its small animal practice on a full-time basis. This is a role with variety built in, with opportunities to work across theatre, wards and nurse clinics.
The practice is set in the picturesque countryside of the Chilterns, with easy access to walking, cycling and horse riding routes, and an easy commute to London. The nursing team is described as ambitious and proactive, with a strong focus on using clinical skills well and supporting patient care.
Daily ward rounds give the team a structured start to the day, with cases and duties allocated clearly across the clinical team. The wider nursing structure includes a Head Nurse and a Deputy Head Nurse at each site.
Wheelhouse Veterinary Centre is a first opinion small animal practice in Chalfont St Giles, serving dogs, cats and small pets. The practice is equipped with endoscopy, laparoscopic bitch spays, ultrasound, DR and CR radiography, Class 4 lasers, 4 consult rooms and an in-house lab.
The wider team includes 3 SVN's and 13 RVN's, including 1 physio nurse, alongside a veterinary physiotherapist and a leadership team with a Head Nurse and Deputy Head Nurse at each site. The veterinary team has interests or certificates across oncology, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, dentistry, anaesthesia, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, small animal medicine, feline medicine and dermatology. The practice also supports charities locally and nationally, including StreetVet, Marjorie Nash Cat Rescue and Macmillan Cancer Support.
