About the Role
Amical Vets is looking for a professional and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its small animal team in March, Cambridgeshire. The role covers the usual first opinion caseload for cats, dogs and small furries, with confidence needed in both consultations and routine surgery.
The practice offers flexibility around working pattern, with full time or part time considered. The current rota is up to 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm, with no out of hours or weekends. Consultations are 15 minutes as standard, and longer appointments are available for more complex cases, blood samples and euthanasia.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out first opinion work for cats, dogs and small furries.
- See patients in consultations and perform routine surgical procedures.
- Work with the team on multiple surgical slots each week, including the potential for full day operations.
- Make use of support from local out of hours hospitals and referral options when cases need it.
- Contribute to a practice that supports nurse consults and charitable work in the local area.
Requirements
- Professional and experienced Veterinary Surgeon.
- Confident in consultations.

About the Practice
Amical Vets, March is part of IVC Evidensia and is based at Amical Veterinary Centre on High Street in March, Cambridgeshire. The practice treats dogs, cats and small pets, and is rabbit friendly.
The practice has a modern waiting area, open plan dispensary, in house Idexx lab, digital x ray room with separate viewing area, prep and recovery area, bright theatre, multiprobe ultrasound, and a dedicated dental area with equipment.
