About the Role

This part-time position (16 hours per week) offers genuine flexibility in how you structure your working week. Based in Aberdeen at Ardene House, you'll join a busy first-opinion practice with hospital-level facilities, giving you the clinical scope to work cases to a high standard while maintaining real continuity of care. Shifts fall between 8am and 7pm, with participation in a 1-in-3 Saturday rota.

The role has a consulting focus, ideal if you enjoy case continuity, client communication and internal medicine. However, if surgery interests you too, you can incorporate this into your role with salary reflecting your clinical responsibility. You'll be supported by an experienced, collaborative team who actively encourage clinical discussion and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver first-opinion small animal consulting, with the option to develop surgical work
• Build and maintain lasting client relationships with a loyal, engaged client base
• Work cases to a high clinical standard, supported by the practice's advanced equipment and facilities
• Participate in a 1-in-3 Saturday rota
• Engage in clinical discussion and knowledge sharing with the team

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon (RCVS registered)
• Experience in small animal practice
• Strong client communication and consulting skills
• Not suitable for new graduates or those requiring structured graduate development

About the Practice

Ardene House is a busy, well-established small animal practice serving Aberdeen with impressive facilities and a loyal, engaged client base. The practice offers hospital-level clinical scope within a first-opinion setting, with access to advanced equipment including CT scanner, laparoscopy, digital radiography, endoscopy, ultrasound, dental radiography and full in-house laboratory. On-site 24/7 out-of-hours support is provided by Vets Now.
