About the Role

You'll join Steffan Vets in Lampeter as a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, working collaboratively with a friendly and supportive team in one of Wales' most picturesque locations. This is a full-time, part-time, or job-share opportunity (flexible applications welcomed) offering a varied and rewarding caseload across companion animals, with potential to develop mixed practice experience alongside the farm veterinary team.

Located in the heart of West Wales, Lampeter offers an exceptional lifestyle with stunning countryside, coastal walks, and easy access to the Wales Coast Path, beautiful beaches, mountains, and historic towns. Weekday shifts are typically 8:30am to 5:30pm with a one-hour lunch break and rotational late cover; Saturdays rotate 8:30am to 1:30pm. Out-of-hours care is managed through external provider arrangements with supportive inpatient care available at the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient and client care across a varied primary care caseload
• Develop clinical skills and interests while supporting colleague development and contributing to practice clinical culture
• Work collaboratively as an integral member of a seven-vet clinical team
• Manage routine medical and surgical cases with growing clinical confidence

Requirements

• Veterinary degree and current RCVS registration (or eligible to register)
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
• Proactive approach to learning, openness to feedback and development
• Professionalism, reliability, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Candidates at all career stages welcomed (experienced vets, new graduates, and those seeking mixed practice experience)

About the Practice

Steffan Vets is a well-established seven-vet mixed practice based in Lampeter, Ceredigion, serving the West Wales countryside within approximately 18 miles of the town. The practice operates two surgeries: the main surgery in Lampeter and a branch surgery in Tregaron, both with ample parking.
