About the Role
This is a permanent small animal Veterinary Surgeon role at St George's Vets in Wolverhampton, with the added appeal of no out of hours or on-call. A typical full-time pattern is 40 hours across 4 weekdays, plus 1 in 5 Saturdays from 08:30 to 16:00, and the role is open to full-time, part-time and flexible working.
You will split your week between the main hospital and a dedicated consulting branch. The caseload includes routine procedures such as neutering and dental surgery, as well as more advanced work including TPLOs, BOAS surgery, TECA, larger mass removals and laparoscopic spays.
Key Responsibilities
- Work across both the Wolverhampton hospital and the consulting branch, with two days per week at each site in a full-time pattern.
- Manage a varied surgical caseload alongside a dedicated Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue Surgeon.
- Carry out consultations at the dedicated branch.
- Contribute to routine and advanced procedures, including neutering, dental surgery, TPLOs, BOAS surgery, TECA, larger mass removals and laparoscopic spays.
- Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver patient and client care.
- Share knowledge and experience with colleagues and contribute to the clinical culture of the practice.
Requirements
- A veterinary degree and registration, or eligibility to register, with the RCVS.
- Experience in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.
- Confidence and motivation as a veterinary surgeon.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
- A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development.
- Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

About the Practice
St George's Vets is part of the inspiring Vet Care network within IVC Evidensia. The practice is based across two sites in Wolverhampton and treats dogs, cats and small pets.
The sites are equipped with operating theatres, Idexx labs, ultrasound, dental X-ray, a CT scanner, digital X-ray, digital microscope, an endoscope, laparoscopic kit and more. The team includes certificate holders and advanced practitioners, supported by skilled nursing staff and dedicated support teams.
