About the Role

Join Lynton House Vets as a Veterinary Surgeon on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. This is a full-time position working three days across 32 hours (8:30am–4:00pm), including Saturday rotas, with no out-of-hours commitment. The practice is also open to part-time hours for the right candidate, recognising that work-life balance matters. You’ll be based primarily in Woking, though occasional travel to the sister branches in Addlestone and Bagshot will be part of the role.

Woking sits in the heart of leafy Surrey, just 25 minutes by train from central London. It’s the perfect blend of town and country living, with the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on your doorstep and excellent shopping, restaurants, and cultural venues nearby.

  • Perform a range of procedures, from routine neutering and lump removals to soft tissue surgery
  • Work alongside ten Registered Veterinary Nurses who run their own clinics and provide seamless in-theatre support
  • Contribute to a team of seven veterinary surgeons, ensuring collaborative, high-standard patient care
  • Use modern facilities including ultrasound with VVS scans, digital and dental X-ray, and in-house labs
  • Build strong client relationships in a practice known for community-focused, compassionate care

Requirements

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with experience in small animal practice
  • Strong clinical knowledge across general small animal medicine and surgery
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team environment
  • Professional approach to client communication and patient care

Benefits

  • Holiday & Wellbeing: 6.6 weeks’ annual holiday (including bank holidays) plus your birthday off, private medical insurance, enhanced family-friendly leave and pay, 24/7 confidential Employee Assistance Programme
  • Professional Development: £1,250 CPD allowance plus 40 hours paid CPD time, access to Vetlexicon online resources, certificate and advanced learning support, world-leading IVC Evidensia Training Centres, £1,250 annual Care Fund per vet
  • Professional Memberships: BVA membership, VDS cover, RCVS fees covered
  • Colleague Perks: Cycle to Work and Green Car schemes (subject to eligibility), retail discounts and cashback offers, reduced-cost veterinary care for your own pets

About the Practice

Lynton House Vets is an independent, family-run group with deep roots in the Woking community, established in the mid-1940s and proudly known for its ‘Village Vet’ reputation. The Woking location moved into a brand new, purpose-built hospital-standard facility in 2018, thoughtfully designed with both pets and people in mind: separate cat and dog waiting areas, dedicated cat consultation room, large private bereavement suite, spacious prep areas, two theatres, dedicated imaging and lab spaces, comfortable wards, and a large staff room with kitchen for the team.

The practice operates three locations and is part of IVC Evidensia. The team actively supports local and national charities including Cats Protection, Guide Dogs, and Dogs Trust. One vet is currently completing a certificate in Dentistry, and the practice regularly welcomes a visiting orthopaedic specialist.
