McKenzie Vets is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its clinical team on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. Based in Alexandria, this long-established small animal practice combines modern facilities with a genuinely supportive team culture. The location offers easy access to Loch Lomond National Park whilst remaining commutable from Glasgow and Stirling.
You'll work 40 hours per week across four days, with Saturday mornings on a 1-in-4 rota (8:30am to 12:30pm, followed by an early finish the next week). Weekday shifts run 8:00am to 6:30pm. Importantly, there are no out-of-hours or reception responsibilities. The practice welcomes flexibility for the right candidate.
McKenzie Vets is a long-established single-site small animal practice with Cat Friendly Silver status and GP in Practice Standards Scheme accreditation. Equipped with three consulting rooms, dedicated theatre, fully equipped laboratory, digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring, laser and acupuncture facilities, the practice combines traditional values with modern clinical capabilities. The team of five vets (two studying towards certificates in surgery and cardiology) creates a forward-thinking, supportive environment where new ideas are welcomed.
