Night Veterinary Surgeon (ECC)

About the Role

Join Sutton 24h as a Night Veterinary Surgeon, leading emergency and critical care during overnight shifts with a structured, predictable rota that respects your time off. You'll work 1 week on, 2 weeks off as the sole charge overnight vet, providing exceptional clinical care when it matters most. This is a part-time position that gives you breathing room – genuine recovery time between shifts rather than constant on-call fatigue. Sutton 24h is a large, well-established 24-hour hospital in South London with five dedicated daytime vets providing continuity, and three separate night teams ensuring focused, manageable overnight coverage. The night teams are known for working exceptionally well together in a close-knit, supportive atmosphere where everyone feels valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional clinical care to emergency and critical care patients in consults and surgery, maintaining the highest regulatory and operational standards
• Develop tailored treatment plans with clients, ensuring clear communication and care continuity
• Work collaboratively with a dedicated RVN as part of the overnight team
• Support the wider Medivet community's clinical development and learning culture
• Manage sole charge responsibilities during night shifts, making confident independent clinical decisions

Requirements

• Qualified MRCVS with demonstrated experience in emergency and critical care (ECC)
• Passion for clinical excellence and client-focused care
• Team player with strong communication and collaborative working style
• Ability to work independently and confidently in sole charge settings
• Commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance and best practice
