Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This full-time Veterinary Surgeon position is based in Thurmaston, Leicester, within Medivet's clinic network. The role centres on patient care, client communication and maintaining high clinical and operational standards, with a weekend rota of 1:6 plus bank holiday cover.

You'll be part of a small team that needs to work closely together to deliver exceptional care for clients, patients and colleagues. Key Responsibilities

• Carry out consultations and procedures.
• Take responsibility for patient care, monitoring, admissions and discharges.
• Keep patient records accurate and up to date.
• Complete clinical handovers and arrange transfer for any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
• Prescribe medication and complete dispensing checks.
• Deliver client updates following procedures and handle complaints or concerns raised in clinic.
• Prepare estimates and costs, help secure payment, and support action to reduce debt.
• Work in line with regulatory, practice and operational standards, including health and safety requirements.
• Support clinical mentoring and development, and share best practice across clinics and the wider Medivet community.
• Support lab testing processes and escalate issues to the Practice Manager when needed.

Requirements

• RCVS registered vet surgeon.
• Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
• Experience delivering exceptional clinical care to clients and patients.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Experience using coaching and influencing skills.
• Support for nurse consults and an understanding of how these contribute to clinic performance and efficiency.
