Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a full-time Veterinary Surgeon role in Temple Fortune, Barnet, with a 40 hour week across four days. The rota includes either 1 in 6 full weekends at Hendon 24 or 1 in 3 Saturdays on a two-clinic run, and the team also shares bank holiday and on-call duties, with 2 to 3 bank holiday shifts and 2 to 3 weeks of on-call each year.

The practice handles a high caseload of medical work ups and second opinions, so this suits a vet with a bias towards internal medicine and preferably enhanced ultrasonography skills. It is a three-vet practice with a team of 10 to 11 people on many days, run by an experienced Branch Partner vet, and it is described as a bright, spacious clinic on Finchley Road with free on-street parking and good transport links.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care across consults and surgery.
• Manage a caseload with a strong focus on internal medicine and medical work ups.
• Contribute to second opinion cases and develop tailored treatment plans with clients.
• Work collaboratively within a three-vet practice and wider team.
• Support patient care while maintaining regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
• Share skills and contribute to the development of the Medivet community.

Requirements

• Qualified MRCVS.
• At least 3 years' experience.
• A bias towards internal medicine.
• Preferably enhanced ultrasonography skills.
• Happy to do some consulting.
• Team player with a focus on clinical excellence and client care.

About the Practice

This Medivet practice in Temple Fortune, Barnet is a three-vet clinic with a wider team of 10 to 11 people on many days. It is not open overnight, but it handles a high medical caseload and is equipped with a MyLab Fox ultrasound machine, full dental equipment including dental x-ray, and up to date laboratory and monitoring equipment. Procedures that cannot be performed in clinic are taken to Hendon 24 Hr Hospital.
