Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This Veterinary Surgeon role at Medivet Standish is built around a varied surgical caseload, with a particular focus on helping you develop your interest in surgery. The practice is modern and purpose built, with excellent facilities and laparoscopic surgery available, alongside more advanced procedures such as orthopaedic surgery, TPLOs, fracture repairs and advanced soft tissue surgery.

You’ll be joining an established, friendly team of veterinary professionals, including experienced Veterinary Nurses, Client Care Assistants and Receptionists. The practice also offers the chance to work alongside a Surgical Certificate Holder, with potential for further study and certificate support.

Standish is described as a lovely, well connected town with a strong community feel, and the location offers links to Manchester and Preston, plus access north towards Lancashire and Cumbria.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to patients in consults and surgery.
• Develop tailored treatment plans with clients.
• Work collaboratively within the practice team.
• Contribute to the development of Medivet communities by sharing your skills.
• Maintain regulatory, practice and operational compliance in day to day clinical work.

Requirements

• You must be a qualified MRCVS.
• You should have a strong interest in surgery.
• You’ll need a passion for clinical excellence and client care.
• You should be a team player who wants to make a difference in practice.
