1 night on call every 3 weeks and 1 in 5 weekends for most vets. Weekend cover includes Saturday and Sunday consults plus one night on call. Dedicated RVN support until 10:30 pm, with another RVN on call overnight. Half a day off follows a night on call, and the next day off follows a weekend on call.

You will work a genuine four day week, with hours of 8.30am to 6.30pm and a last consult at 5.45pm. The rota includes a balanced mix of consulting and theatre time, plus time built in for admin and phone calls. For most vets, the OOH pattern is 1 night on call every 3 weeks and 1 in 5 weekends, although the practice says it is flexible and will work with the right candidate to find the right balance.
