Looking for a senior vet role with genuine work-life balance and no OOH? Join a thriving small animal practice in coastal Sheringham with a supportive four-vet team, full surgical facilities, and a real focus on team development.
1-in-3 Saturday mornings (8:15-12:30); no OOH requirement
This is a senior veterinary surgeon position with a difference. You'll combine hands-on clinical work with meaningful leadership responsibilities, mentoring colleagues and shaping clinical excellence alongside the Director of Practice and Clinical Services. Based in Sheringham, a vibrant coastal town that attracts holidaymakers, you'll see genuine variety in your caseload and enjoy a structured 40-hour week with no overnight on-call requirement. Your working pattern is flexible: structured over four or five days with Saturday mornings on a 1-in-3 rota (8:15-12:30 only), giving you real weekends back.
Miramar Vets is a bright, spacious practice designed around comfort and care. You'll work in an environment with four consulting rooms including a dedicated RVN space, a peaceful rainbow room for anxious patients, species-specific kennels, an isolation ward, and full surgical facilities including a well-equipped theatre, dedicated X-ray room, and ultrasound. An in-house lab (with IDEXX support) and planned dental X-ray add to your toolkit. Behind the scenes, two shared offices and a well-stocked staff room keep the team connected.
The caseload is predominantly dogs and cats with rabbits, small furries, and occasional wildlife cases. Each vet has a guaranteed ops day involving routine but rewarding procedures: spays, castrates, lumpectomies, dentals, and splenectomies. The practice prioritises continuity of care and keeps most cases in-house, though referral capability exists if needed.
Miramar Veterinary Centre has proudly served the Sheringham community for more than 50 years. It is part of inspiring vet care, the UK's number one vet care provider, trusted with the care of over 2 million animals. The practice is ISFM Silver accredited and Dog Friendly certified, reflecting its commitment to outstanding standards.
You'll join a skilled team of four vets (one with dental certification), five RVNs, one SVN, one VCA, four receptionists, and a Practice Manager. Miramar actively supports local charities including Cats Protection and Guide Dogs for the Blind, and is involved in community activities from school visits to dog shows at the community carnival. The practice offers 24/7 emergency cover and prides itself on being privately owned with no sales targets, ensuring unbiased clinical advice.
