Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

Moorview Referrals is seeking an organised and friendly Veterinary Receptionist to join its front-of-house team at this purpose-built referral hospital in Cramlington. This is a part-time, 12-month fixed-term position working 20 hours per week, offering excellent flexibility alongside genuine career development opportunities within a multi-disciplinary team of over 100 staff. You'll be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, managing the day-to-day flow of a busy referral practice while supporting the clinical team behind the scenes. The role balances client-facing warmth with administrative precision—keeping the practice running smoothly so vets can focus on patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and their pets in a professional, friendly manner
• Manage front-of-house operations and maintain welcoming waiting areas, consulting rooms, and offices
• Book appointments and manage scheduling efficiently
• Register new clients and explain practice services and pricing
• Prepare paperwork and patient information in advance for veterinary surgeons
• Enter client and patient information onto record systems accurately and promptly
• Handle payments, process daily banking, and manage stock control
• Attend training events to stay current with practice systems and knowledge
• Support colleagues with administrative tasks and maintain a collaborative team environment

• Proven experience in a customer-facing role with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment
