About the Role
MyVets Lancashire is recruiting a Veterinary Surgeon to join a developing dentistry focused service. You will have the chance to help shape how dental care is delivered, while still enjoying a varied mix of consultations, surgery and dentistry.
The role is well suited to a confident and motivated vet who wants to grow a clinical interest in dentistry. Modern dental equipment, including dental radiography, is part of the picture, and the practice is looking for someone who is interested in dental procedures, imaging and treatment planning.
The position offers 40 hours per week over 4 days, with hours of 8am to 7pm, plus 1 in 5 Saturdays from 8am to 2pm. There is no OOH or bank holiday work, and part-time and flexible working patterns are open to discussion.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of a dentistry focused service at MyVets Lancashire
- See consultations, including identifying and advising on dental cases
- Carry out surgery and increase your dental caseload over time
- Deliver dentistry ranging from routine procedures to more advanced cases as your skills develop
- Contribute to a more structured and efficient dental workflow
- Work collaboratively with an experienced team that values clinical mentorship and knowledge sharing
Requirements
- A veterinary degree and RCVS registration, or eligibility to register
- Experience in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
- A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
- Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- A vet working towards, or already holding, a dental certificate would be particularly well suited, although additional qualifications in Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery are not required
