About the Role
This is a fully remote Contract Manager position reporting to PDSA's Head of Supply Chain. You'll lead the entire contract lifecycle for the organisation's suppliers and service providers, from initial sourcing and tendering through to implementation, performance monitoring, and renewal. Your work will directly support PDSA's mission to expand its reach and help more families keep their pets when times are tough.
You'll be at the heart of PDSA's supply chain operations, ensuring all contracts deliver genuine value, minimise organisational risk, and remain compliant with legal and regulatory standards. This is a strategic role where your decisions will shape how effectively PDSA resources its services across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supplier sourcing, tendering, evaluation and contract negotiations to secure best value
- Manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure consistently high-quality service delivery
- Support procurement activities and provide guidance to budget holders on procurement best practice
- Monitor supplier performance through regular contract review meetings and reporting
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve procurement processes and supply chain efficiency
- Ensure all contracts comply with relevant legal, regulatory and organisational requirements
- Maintain accurate contract records and produce reporting on supplier performance
- Lead and develop a small team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience managing contracts within a supply chain or procurement environment
- MCIPS qualification (or equivalent professional qualification in procurement/contract management)
- Demonstrated experience leading supplier negotiations and managing strategic supplier relationships
- Strong understanding of procurement legislation, governance and contract compliance
- Working knowledge of procurement frameworks
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to analyse information, manage multiple priorities and deliver value for money
- Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector is advantageous but not essential
