About the Role
This is your opportunity to establish and lead PDSA's change function at a pivotal moment in the charity's growth. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Resources, you'll work closely with Executive and Senior Leaders to oversee the organisation's transformation programmes, ensuring they're aligned to strategic objectives and deliver measurable outcomes.
The role is hybrid with flexibility to work remotely and occasional travel to PDSA's Head Office in Telford and other locations as required. You'll build governance frameworks, develop a high-performing change team, and provide executive insight into programme performance, risks and benefits realisation across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead PDSA's change portfolio, prioritising and sequencing programmes and projects to align with strategic objectives
- Develop and embed consistent programme and project management approaches with clear governance, reporting and assurance frameworks
- Build and lead a high-performing Change team, developing capability and fostering continuous improvement
- Provide Executive and Senior Leaders with clear visibility of programme performance, risks, dependencies and benefits realisation
- Direct investment and resources towards initiatives delivering greatest organisational value
- Build strong cross-organisational relationships, influencing and challenging stakeholders to support informed decision-making
- Drive continuous improvement in how change is planned, governed and delivered across PDSA
Requirements
- Significant experience leading large-scale change programmes within a complex organisation
- Experience establishing or developing a change function, PMO or portfolio management approach
- Strong knowledge of programme governance, assurance and project delivery methodologies
- Ability to influence, coach and challenge Executive and Senior Leadership teams
- Excellent commercial, analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to balance priorities, risk and organisational value
- Collaborative leadership style with experience developing high-performing teams and building strong stakeholder relationships
- Professional qualifications such as MSP, PRINCE2 or PMP are advantageous, as is experience within the charity, healthcare or veterinary sectors
