About the Role
This Veterinary Nurse Team Leader role at PDSA Gillingham is a chance to support a charity that provides vital veterinary care for pets whose owners are facing financial hardship. It is a full-time, 12 month temporary position working 37.5 hours per week.
You will support the Head Nurse by leading part of the nursing team, helping to keep the hospital running smoothly and making a real difference to pets and owners in the local community. The role brings together clinical leadership, team support and day-to-day coordination in a busy, purpose-led environment.
You will also help embed Pet Wellbeing services across the hospital, with a focus on prevention, education and proactive healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Nurse by leading part of the nursing team.
- Manage Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Care Assistants working in theatre, inpatient care and consults.
- Coordinate the day-to-day workflow through the hospital.
- Encourage appropriate financial contributions from clients.
- Help maintain high standards of hospital hygiene, cleanliness and equipment.
- Coach colleagues, give clear feedback and lead by example in clinical standards and client care.
- Deputise for the Head Nurse when needed.
- Support the rollout of Pet Wellbeing services across the hospital.
