About the Role

This is a part-time veterinary surgeon position at PDSA Coventry, working 22.5 hours per week (salary pro rata) with genuine flexibility to suit your lifestyle. You’ll see a diverse caseload of medical and surgical cases—no two days are the same—while working alongside an experienced, caring team that thrives on shared learning and collaborative case discussion. You’ll be treating pets whose families are in financial hardship, which means balancing best-practice medicine with realistic treatment options and pragmatic decision-making. This role suits vets who want variety, meaningful impact, and a team culture that genuinely has your back.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide primary veterinary care across a diverse range of medical and surgical cases
  • Engage in collaborative case discussions with colleagues across the hospital
  • Communicate clearly with clients about treatment options, building trust while discussing realistic care pathways
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of hospital services and protocols
  • Champion PDSA’s mission of providing veterinary care to pets of people in financial hardship
  • Work as an active team player in a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment

Requirements

  • Full RCVS registration as a veterinary surgeon
  • Clinical confidence and sound, evidence-based decision-making skills
  • Adaptability and resilience to handle a varied caseload
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build client trust
  • Team-focused approach with genuine interest in collaborative learning
  • Pragmatic, welfare-focused approach to clinical practice
