Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This part-time Veterinary Surgeon role is based in Plymouth and sits within PDSA's charity mission to help keep people and pets together when times are tough. You'll be working 7.5 hours per week in a permanent position, with a caseload that includes a wide range of medical and surgical cases.

The role calls for a qualified vet who is adaptable, resilient and confident making evidence-based decisions. You'll be discussing treatment options with owners, building clear plans that balance best practice with each family's circumstances, and contributing to a collaborative hospital team where case discussion and shared learning are valued.

Key Responsibilities

• See a varied caseload of medical and surgical cases at the Plymouth hospital.
• Make pragmatic, welfare-focused treatment recommendations that reflect each owner's circumstances.
• Communicate clearly with clients and build trust through thoughtful consultation and discussion.
• Work positively with colleagues across the hospital and contribute to shared learning and case discussion.
• Support PDSA's wider mission and help encourage client contributions to the charity's work.

• You must be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon.
