About the Role

Robson Vets is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly, well-established small animal practice in Laurencekirk, nestled in the stunning Aberdeenshire countryside. This is a genuinely flexible part-time role working 20 hours per week across 2 days (Monday–Friday only), with no weekends or out-of-hours duties required—making it ideal if you’re looking for a better work-life balance without compromising on clinical variety.

You’ll be part of a collaborative clinical team comprising 3 senior vets, 4.7 FTE nurses, 3 VCAs, and 4 reception staff, all committed to delivering high-quality first opinion care. The practice is exceptionally well-resourced, with two fully equipped theatres, a dedicated dental suite, ICU and isolation units, separate wards for cats and dogs, plus diagnostic equipment including infusion pumps, patient warmers, multiparameter monitors, SpO₂ monitoring, digital dental and X-ray systems, and both rigid and flexible endoscopy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct nursing consults and provide direct patient care under veterinary supervision
  • Theatre nursing across a variety of medical and surgical cases
  • Laboratory work and diagnostic support
  • Inpatient care and monitoring, including ICU and isolation unit management
  • Collaborate with veterinary surgeons and wider team to maintain clinical standards
  • Support ongoing development of patient care protocols within the practice

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and effective workload management
  • Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
  • Team-orientated mindset with enthusiasm for delivering high standards of care
