About the Role
Robson Vets is seeking a confident veterinary surgeon to join its welcoming small animal practice in Laurencekirk, with a sister branch in the picturesque coastal town of Montrose. This part-time position offers a refreshing balance: you'll work 30 hours across 3ā5 days per week with a mix of consulting and surgery, participate in a 1:4 weekend rota, and provide just one on-call night per week for inpatient care onlyāno full out-of-hours requirement. You'll be joining an experienced clinical team boasting over 40 years of combined veterinary expertise, alongside 5 RVNs, student nurses, and veterinary care assistants. The practice handles a diverse caseloadāfrom routine small animals to exoticsāand you'll have the opportunity to take on sole charge responsibilities while always having experienced colleagues readily available for support. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality clinical care across routine and complex medical and surgical cases to a diverse small animal and exotic caseload
- Conduct consulting and surgical work, contributing to a balanced 30-hour working week
- Work collaboratively with the wider teamā3 vets, 5 RVNs, SVNs, VCAs, and reception staffāto maintain excellent patient and client care standards
- Build strong, ongoing relationships with clients through clear communication and continuity of care
- Support the clinical development of less experienced team members, sharing your knowledge and experience
- Participate in the 1:4 weekend rota and provide one on-call night per week for inpatient care
- Engage in continuous professional development and pursue areas of clinical interest with practice support
- Contribute positively to the practice's clinical culture and team environment
Requirements
- Veterinary degree and current registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
- Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues

About the Practice
Robson Vets is an established, RCVS Tier 2-accredited small animal practice serving the Laurencekirk and Montrose areas of Aberdeenshire and Angus. The practice operates two sitesāthe main branch in Laurencekirk and a sister location in coastal Montroseāproviding comprehensive care to a diverse patient population including dogs, cats, small pets, and exotic species. The team comprises 3 experienced veterinary surgeons, 5 registered veterinary nurses, student nurses, veterinary care assistants, and dedicated reception staff.
