About the Role
This is a permanent position spanning two sites—Rosewood and Blackheath—offering a balanced mix of medicine and surgery that you can tailor to match your interests. The role includes periods of sole charge, but you'll be well-supported by the wider team throughout. As a welcome bonus, the practice is offering up to £5,000 (pro rata) for new hires.
Based near excellent transport links to Birmingham and beyond (M6/M5 access), this full-time position typically runs 40 hours over 4 days, plus a manageable 1:8 Saturday rota (09:00–17:00). Best of all: there's no out-of-hours or on-call requirement. Requirements
- Registered as a UK veterinary surgeon
- Experience and confidence in small animal medicine and surgery
- Ability to work independently when required
- Commitment to high standards of clinical care and professional development

About the Practice
The Lockwood Vets group operates seven modern surgeries across the West Midlands and Birmingham, spanning Wolverhampton, Walsall, Stourbridge, Halesowen, Dudley, Telford, Cannock, Burton-on-Trent and surrounding areas. Rosewood (one of the two sites for this role) is a purpose-built facility featuring surgical theatres, prep rooms, digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, in-house lab, and dental X-ray capability. The clinical team includes 12 vets with certificate holders in exotics, internal medicine, and surgery, plus vets pursuing certificates in dermatology, imaging, and surgery. They're supported by a long-standing, highly skilled nursing team.
