Join a long-established hospital team with an integrated referral centre, a 4-day week for full-time staff and no routine OOH for day vets. Rutland House also offers exposure to complex cases, in-house referral work and strong clinical support.
Dedicated night team provides inpatient and out-of-hours cover. Day vets only contribute to OOH for holiday and sickness cover, up to a maximum of 9 nights per year. Every vet works one bank holiday per year.
This is a small animal vet role within a large, established hospital setting that combines first-opinion work with an integrated referral centre. You will be joining a supportive team that can offer a varied caseload, with scope to keep developing your surgical and clinical skills.
The role is split 50/50 between the hospital and one of the branches, with an equal share of consulting and operating. You will also spend one full week, approximately every two months, as the hospital’s inpatient-only vet. The practice encourages case continuity, including bringing non-routine surgical cases from the branches into hospital for post-operative care.
Support is available from experienced first-opinion and referral clinicians, and the team includes certificate holders and advanced practitioners across several areas, including small animal surgery, medicine, radiology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, dermatology and oncology.
