Rutland House is seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon to join their supportive team in St Helens, Merseyside. This is a 50/50 split role between the main hospital and one of the practice's branch surgeries, offering equal shares of operating and consulting duties. You'll spend approximately one full week every two months as the hospital's inpatient-only vet, giving you exposure to both routine first-opinion cases and more complex referral work.
This is an ideal opportunity for a vet who enjoys general practice but also wants exposure to advanced cases and the chance to develop surgical and clinical skills further. With support from experienced first-opinion and referral clinicians, you'll have the opportunity to pursue certificate qualifications and explore your professional interests. The practice actively promotes case continuity, with vets encouraged to bring branch patients to the hospital for non-routine surgeries requiring post-operative hospitalisation.
