About the Role
This is a permanent veterinary surgeon position with real flexibility. You can work full-time, part-time, consult-only, or on a tailored rota that genuinely suits your life. The standard full-time pattern is 40 hours across four weekdays (08:30–19:00) plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (09:00–13:00, consults only), though alternative arrangements are happily discussed.
You'll be joining a friendly, well-established team in Shipley—a charming market town less than a mile from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Saltaire, with excellent transport links to Leeds city centre. The practice offers a high-quality mix of routine, preventative, and complex medical and surgical cases, all worked up to a rigorous clinical standard. The nursing team consistently earns praise for outstanding support and collaborative care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver first-opinion small animal care with 15-minute consultation slots
- Manage a caseload tailored to your clinical interests and experience level
- Work collaboratively with a team of veterinary surgeons, RVNs, SVNs, VCAs and receptionists
- Contribute to case follow-up and continuity of care in a supportive environment
- Take advantage of protected admin time and proper breaks within your rota
Requirements
- Qualified veterinary surgeon (any experience level considered—from new graduates to experienced practitioners)
- Small animal first-opinion experience
- Professional registration and suitable indemnity insurance
