Join an established equine team in South Devon with a four day working week, a 1:5 out of hours rota and support always at the end of the phone. This role suits an experienced equine vet who wants to help grow the practice while working alongside a larger, supportive veterinary team.
1:5 out of hours rota. Support is available at the end of the phone, and nurses are on call to assist when needed.
South Moor Vets is looking for an experienced equine vet to join the team on a permanent basis, with maternity cover also considered. The rota is built around work life balance, with a four day working week, typically 9am to 6pm, plus a rolling lieu day.
You will be part of a wider South Moor Vets team rather than a small ambulatory unit, working alongside 5 equine vets and a broader team of 47 vets and 130 staff. The practice is currently purely ambulatory and is keen to grow into a clinic of its own when the opportunity arises. South Devon also brings plenty beyond work, from coast to moor, alongside regular social activities.
South Moor Vets is an independently owned, well established and dynamic team of equine vets. The practice says its history goes back to a time when the vet would travel the rounds using a horse and cart. It is currently purely ambulatory and has full video endoscopy, digital radiography, ultrasound and surgical laser.
The equine team includes 5 vets, with three certificate holders in Equine Medicine, Equine Practice and Equine Repro, and another vet working towards a certificate. South Moor Vets is also an XLVets member practice.
