🕐 Schedule & Rota

No out-of-hours or on-call commitments. Includes 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (9am–1pm) only.

About the Role

Southfields Veterinary Surgery is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon for a senior position within their friendly, RCVS-accredited small animal practice. Based in Cheshire with a loyal client base and reputation for exceptional care, this is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, including one Saturday morning per month (9am–1pm). You’ll join a supportive, inclusive team where wellbeing is genuinely prioritised. The practice operates with 15-minute standard appointments (30 minutes for complex cases) and scheduled admin breaks, giving you breathing room throughout your week. Minimal sole charge work means you’ll have colleagues on hand to collaborate with and discuss cases—quite the contrast to the chaos you may have experienced elsewhere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload with realistic appointment times and administrative support
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support junior colleagues as appropriate to your seniority
  • Maintain professional development and commitment to ongoing learning
  • Participate in occasional Saturday morning clinics (1 in 4)

Requirements

  • MRCVS-qualified Veterinary Surgeon with solid clinical experience
  • Strong clinical skills and genuine passion for tailored patient care
  • Collaborative approach with a commitment to professional development
  • Willingness to embrace a supportive, inclusive team culture

Benefits

  • Competitive salary up to £65,000 FTE (depending on experience)
  • No out-of-hours or on-call commitments
  • Minimal sole charge work—genuine team support
  • Flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle
  • Fully equipped operating theatre, dental X-ray, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory
  • Scheduled admin breaks and realistic appointment times (15 minutes standard, 30 minutes for complex cases)
  • Focus on work-life balance and team wellbeing
  • Regular team social events (Go Ape, horse riding, comedy nights, craft sessions)
  • Part of VetPartners, newly awarded Employer of the Year, offering a supportive and progressive environment
