Join an independent mixed practice on Whitby’s coast, where the caseload is mostly small animal with equine work available too. The role also comes with a 4-day week, a shared on-call rota and some distinctive extras, including a practice beach hut.
Shared on-call rota with one night on call per week and 1 weekend in 4. Small animal out-of-hours cases are transferred to a dedicated OOH provider from Friday evening to Monday morning. Equine emergency cover is provided 24/7.
This is a varied veterinary surgeon role with an independent mixed practice in coastal Yorkshire. The caseload is around 85% small animal and 15% equine, with the main focus on small animal work and the chance to get involved in equine cases too, particularly lameness investigations, routine dentistry, vaccinations and general equine practice.
You will be joining a friendly team that also works with British Divers Marine Life Rescue and has links to a local wildlife sanctuary. The practice encourages vets to develop their own interests, supports certificate study, and is open to long-term partnership prospects.
The rota is a 4-day week, 8.30 am to 6.30 pm, with a set day off. Consults finish at 6.15 pm and phones go over at 6 pm, with time built in during the day for admin, phone calls and lunch.
